Rue Curry

Services for Rue Curry, 76, of Phalba, were held Oct.13, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Chaplain Donald Kile officiating.  Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery. 

Ms. Curry passed away Oct. 9, 2015, in Athens.  She was born March 5, 1939, in Hunt County to Elmer and Opal French Mitchell. 

She grew up in Plano and worked for an insurance company in Dallas for many years.  She and her husband, Paul, retired to Phalba in 1980.  She was a member of the China Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking.  She was loved and respected by her children.  

Ms. Curry is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ray Curry; her parents and a granddaughter, Tracy Ann Prewitt. 

She is survived by her four daughters, Kathy Carpenter of Dallas, Bobbie Bailey of Dallas, Deborah Curry of Edgewood and Paula and Darrel Standridge of Canton; two sons, Glen Tucker of Dallas and Michael Ray and June Curry of Henderson; 10 grandchildren, Brannon Tucker, Kristal Tucker, Chris Harry, Mark Standridge, Eric Standridge, Matthew Curry, Melissa Curry, John Curry, Paul Allen Prewitt and Rebecca Prewitt; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Jones of Arlington; brother, Dennis Mitchell of Wills Point and nieces, Misty Jones of McKinney and Debbie Catania, of Dallas.
