Dorothy Jo Mourton Jackson, of Tyler, died Oct. 25, 2015, in Tyler.

Mrs. Jackson was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Hinton Okla. to William Doyle “Boss” Mourton and Pearl Harrison Mourton. 

She was a top honors student graduating with the Class of 1955 from Edmond High School in Edmond, Okla.  She attended Blackwood School of Banking in Oklahoma City, Okla. before her marriage to Commander Roy Bryan Jackson II.  After her marriage, she lived in many places around the world, including Japan and Hawaii.

She was a Christian by faith and affiliated with the Southern Baptist. 

The past 40 years she had worked in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma as property manager for several HUD housing groups.  She was an avid seamstress, a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

Mrs. Jackson is preceded in death by both her parents; an infant brother, Rex Mourton; her husband, Roy Bryan Jackson II; a son, Roy Bryan Jackson III; and her stepfather, Samuel Charles Kellner.

She is survived by a son, David Ross Jackson of the home; a daughter, Susan Kay Jackson Christie and husband, James of Shreveport, La.; Wanda Rae Kellner McCreary sister and husband L.W. of Canton; Max John Kellner, brother and wife Linda of Tishomingo Okla.; Sammie Lou Kellner Ainsworth, sister of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Phyllis Marie Kellner Cotton, sister of Ada., Okla.; one grandson, Adam Gatz; four granddaughters, Courtney Knape, Cathenne Gatz, Meagan Crews and McKay Crews; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
