Manna helps us do biblical work

The local county wide foodbank, Manna, Inc., a 501 c3 non-profit, will hold a ground breaking ceremony Sunday, February 21, 2016, 3:00 pm at 17897 FM 1255, Canton, Texas 75103. It will be located next door to Grace Family Bible Fellowship Church.

Manna, Inc. has been non-profit volunteer foodbank in Van Zandt County for more than 15 years and serves all its residents. For example, in 2015 they served 4,024 households that included 12,909 people 126,740 pounds of food products. “The new building will provide more floor space to serve more of our residents in need”, said Kathy Silver. “We are excited to have a new facility where we can better organize the store’s products and receive citizens in a more discrete manner.” Kathy is only a paid part-time employee working with individual volunteers and churches from the communities in Van Zandt County to meet these needs. Several churches and individuals have an established routine of contributions and service to this outreach; however, the need is so great there is never enough.

The overwhelming majority of Scripture that address meeting the needs of the poor are directed at individuals. For example: Deuteronomy 15:7-8 (NASB)
