Summer story time moving to Tuesday
Reading program begins June 10
May means high school graduation and it’s great to see these promising young adults heading into their futures.
We at the library wish each one bright year’s ahead. Libraries have played a large part in their 19 years of schooling.
Also in May, Armed Forces Day is May 21. The library has a varied inventory of books covering all aspects of military service. Don’t forget to thank those who have served for their contribution to our nation’s security.
If you haven’t seen the newly renovated library, come by and be sure to visit the new release section. New selections are arriving each week.
There have been inquiries about a book sale, since there wasn’t one this spring. Another sale will probably take place this fall.
Donations of books in good condition are being accepted now and they will be added to the selection of books to be sold. Also, in the hallway shelves, there are books for sale now.
For the children there are many activities coming in the future month. The last spring Storytime is at 10 a.m. Friday, May 20.
After a brief break, Storytime will resume, but note that for the summer months, beginning June 7, the program will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Don’t forget Dog Days at the Library at 4 p.m. the second Wednesday of every month beginning
June 8.
Beginning June 10 Summer Reading programs start at 10 a.m. Seven great programs have been lined up by the Friends of the Library. The Friday programs will be entertaining and with prizes, too.
Come by and pick up your Summer Schedule of Events and take time to check out the Van Zandt County Library.
