1938-2016
Nancy Jo Young Haugen, of Canton, beloved, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, born on March 20, 1938 in Montebello, Calif., went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 25, 2016.
Her husband, Bill Haugen; daughter, Sharon Haugen and grandson Lance Caughron preceded her in her heavenly journey.
Mrs. Haugen leaves behind her loving family, children, Kathy Haugen-Kelchner, Dallas; Lorraine Haugen-Martin and husband David, Zwolle, La., Jerry Haugen and wife Sheryl, Plano, Faith Renee Caughron and husband Jeff, Wills Point and Kristine Tanzillo and husband Kevin, Canton; grandchildren, Joshua Caughron and wife Katie, Lawton, Okla., Jenifer Fauth and husband Matt, Ft Benning, GA, Alyse Haugen, San Antonio, Brittni Dappen and husband Bobby, Mt Vernon, Wash., Megan Blum and husband Chris, Columbus, Ohio and Kaleb, Colton, Matthew and Brianna Caughron, Wills Point and great-grandchildren, Caleb Landers, Lance Caughron, Nathan Fauth, Landon Caughron, Olivia Dappen, Jack Dappen and Lucy Blum.
She also leaves one brother, Tom “Butch” Marchetti and his wife Jenny, Casaic, Calif.
She was born and raised in California and moved her family to Texas where she lived for the last forty-two years. She was the selfless caretaker of her daughter with special needs until her death in 2004, a formidable opponent in frequent political disagreements with anyone who cared to debate, a colorful storyteller and wholly dedicated to her family. Friends and family celebrate the memory and eternal life of Nancy, for our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, Philippians 3:20 (NKJV). A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at Plano Mutual Cemetery, 18th St, Plano.
