Programs continue all summer at the library

School's out!

Now, what do you do?

The library is a great resource. Of course, now you can read a book – just for fun; or there is time to study-up on interests – animals, cars, hobbies, or countless other subjects. Newspapers and magazines are available to read in the library, along with several types of reference materials. If computer access is needed, the library is your place.

And don't forget free wifi is provided for library patrons.

This Friday, June 24, is the third program in the Summer Reading series. The Hootybee Puppets will be buzzing by to say “hi” and entertain everyone.

So at 10 a.m. be at the library to have fun with our puppet friends.

Also, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, the subject will be “America” at Preschool Storytime. Miss Rhonda is looking forward to reading some stories about our country and its fascinating citizens.

All of this is absolutely at no cost to library patrons; but, you must have a library card for most of the services. If you don't have one, it's easy to get one, and at no charge!

When you apply you must have proof of residence in Van Zandt County (driver’s license, mail, utility bill). Minimum age is 6 years old and the parent or guardian must have a card beforehand.

You'll need to give some information to the librarian so she can fill out the application; this will include the name, address and telephone number of two non-related references. Then sign the completed form and you're ready to have all these services at your disposal.

The only charge is a $3 replacement fee for a lost card. Please try to find a time when the librarians are not so busy and have plenty of time to help you.

The Friends of the Library has received these gifts in May. Henry and Martha Lewis made memorial gifts in honor of C. B. Wiley and Paul Branson; and Keith and Kristi Everitt gave a memorial gift in honor of June Eberhart.

Come by the circulation desk at the Van Zandt County Library; information is available on all services and programs. Also, the website www.vanzandtlibrary.org is informative and easy to navigate.

Enjoy your summer!
