Services for Billy Mack Whitton, 73, of Keller are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.

Mr. Whitton was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who left our world suddenly June 20, 2016, at his home in Keller.

He was born in the Whitton Community of Van Zandt County on March 3, 1943, to Burney and Leo Whitton.

He married the love of his life, Suzanne (Gaston) Whitton of Longview on Feb. 14, 1976. He was retired from the USPS of 38 years. He was a lifetime member of the NALC Union serving as a union steward for 25 years. He also worked for Tractor Supply Company. He could sell a lawn mower to anyone! He was a founding member of the Whitton Volunteer Fire Department, establishing the department in 1983. He served as chief for many years. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, most recently a member of the Keller Church of Christ in Keller. He enjoyed reading old western books, especially Louie Lamour, fishing, watching tractor pulls on RFD TV and listening to talk radio. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of U.S. History as well as his favorite topic, JFK. However, most importantly, he loved spending time with his beloved grandchildren who were his heart and soul.

He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Suzanne Whitton of Keller; son, Bradley Whitton of Keller; grandchildren, Adam Jacobs, Gracie Whitton, Braeden Whitton, Noah Whitton and Declan Whitton; brothers, Bobby Whitton and Delbert Whitton of Canton; aunt, Betty Porter and; many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Burney and Leo Whitton; and sister, Shirley J. Odom.
