Douglas Carroll, FFA member of Grand Saline, received 29¢ per pound for his steer, which was sold to Lloyd Shinn Grocery in Canton. Edgewood Milling Company also purchased a calf owned by Thomas Chaney of Edgewood FFA, paying him 24¢ per pound. The total sale was $1220.42 for the six fat calves.  A few tears were shed by the boys who were parting with their calves, turned into smiles as the bidding continue to bring prices far above market price Bobby and Don Stringer of Myrtle Springs, arranged for each calf to have a price set on them by the Fort Worth Packing Company. The local buyers went way above this price with the competitive bidding. The sale should be an interest builder for next year’s show. Several boys express their desire to participate in this part of the fair next year.
