Running Eagles compete at Midlothian Meet

The Canton varsity girls team will head into its annual home meet on a high note, finishing third overall at the James Smith Invitational Meet in Midlothian Sept. 8. Canton had the top two finishers at the meet, with Karen James finishing first overall in 13:43, and Taylor Marshall finishing second overall in 13:53.

The Running Eagles ran at the James Smith Invitational in Midlothian on Thursday, Sept. 8, winning first overall in the varsity boys division and third overall in the varsity girls division.

The varsity boys won the meet with 100 points out of 16 schools and 122 runners. Cordale Harrison led the way finishing fourth with a time of 18:25. He was followed by Matthew Hook in sixth in 18:27, Jaeden Miller in 23rd in 19:20, Juan Ruiz in 31st in 19:36, Jonathan Bourquin in 36th in 19:50, Bryce Terry in 50th in 20:41, Bryce Wilkins in 20:55, Garrett Stapleton in 20:56 and Gage Bullard in 23:35.
