Services for Laura Marie Stuart, 91, of Canton, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 at Eubank Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Daniell officiating.  Interment will be in Haven of Memories. 

Mrs. Stuart passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2016,  at her home in Canton.  She was born Jan. 20, 1925, in Dallas to Nester Lechen and Etta Mirand Godfrey Shelton. 

She graduated from Lone Oak High School.  She lived in California for a short time and then returned to Dallas.  She and her husband moved to Canton in 1971.  She enjoyed gardening, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George D. Stuart; daughter, Patricia Ann Rucker; granddaughter, Wendy Gail Wade; two brothers: Howard and Leslie Shelton; and a sister, Vera Quarels.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Doug and Eva Stuart of Canton; daughter, Linda Fay Langford of Del Rio; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Ray Shelton; and two sisters: Marie Luedeker and Thelma Jean Mageors.
