Services for Dorothy Herron Solomon, 87, of Carrollton, were held Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Bro. David Fortner officiating.  Interment followed in Haven of Memories.
Mrs. Solomon passed away Dec. 29, 2016, in Carrollton.  She was born Dec. 23, 1929, in Edgewood to Alvy and Gordie Watson Herron. She was a Baptist by faith.  She grew up in Fruitvale and spent most of her adult life in Dallas.  She loved NASCAR Racing and her fur-babies.  She was a good mother and grandmother; she was very loyal to her family. 
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Solomon, Jr.; parents, Alvy and Gordie Herron; brothers, Kelly and Cecil Herron; sister, Barbara Fite; brother-in-law, Jim Fite; sister-in-law, Beatrice Herron; and brother-in-law, Morris Wheat.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Solomon of Carrollton; son, Roger Solomon of Arlington; granddaughter, Amanda Solomon of Arlington; her beloved pets, Pogo and Paxton; sister, Glo Wheat; brother, Gene and Beverly Herron; sister-in-law, Lucy Herron; many nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Pallbearers were Lance Herron, Jordan Thompson, Darrell Thompson, Rusty Herron, Ronnie Herron and Randy Benton.  Honorary pallbearers were Christian and Jonathan Bourquin.
