The Canton Eagles, now 1-2 overall in District 13-4A play, are scheduled to host a tough Mabank Panther team Jan. 27.

The Canton Eagles entered last week riding a wave of positive momentum, having defeated Van Jan. 13 to begin District 13-4A play with 1-0 record. A pair of speed bumps followed this past week, with Brownsboro and Wills Point each handing Canton district losses to drop the team to 1-2 overall through three district games.
The Eagles took on a talented Brownsboro team Jan. 17, falling 71-35 to the Bears. Brownsboro was unstoppable offensively throughout much of the night, outpacing the Eacles 34-15 in the first half to take a commanding lead.
The Bears continued their torrid offensive pace in the second half, adding 17 points to their lead to close out the 36-point win.
