Bi-district loss ends Eaglette season

The Canton Eaglettes were in action twice over the past week, wrapping district play with a road game in Wills Point before taking on the Athens Lady Rabbits in the bi-district round of the playoffs.
Canton took care of business during their contest against the Lady Tigers Feb. 7, playing the role of spoiler in a 55-16 win over Wills Point’s Senior Night. Prior to tipoff, the Tiger athletic program took a break to honor four student-athletes appearing in the final game in uniform as members of the Lady Tiger program: Meredith Edwards, Brooke Futch, Emily Smith and Adrianna Holland.
Once play began after the emotional ceremony, Canton built a slim 3-2 lead before closing the opening frame with a 15-1 run.
