FBC holds Legacy of Love
First Baptist Church in Canton held the ninth annual “Legacy of Love” women’s conference Feb. 17 and 18. The conference began with praise and worship singing led by Steve and Diane Machen, followed by a lasagna dinner served by the men in the church and a Bible message presented by keynote speaker Cindi McMenamin.
For 25 years, Steve and Diane Machen served in a traveling concert and conference ministry. They have appeared with various artists such as Wayne Watson, and Steven Curtis Chapman, as well as appearing on national television. Their songs are also played on Christian radio across the nation.
Keynote speaker Cindi McMenamin is an award-winning author and national speaker who helps women discover strength for the soul. She has authored 15 books. She has been inspiring women for over 30 years, teaching women how to emotional connect with God along with relying on Him for their needs. She resides in San Diego Calif., with her husband, Hugh; and daughter, Dana.
She presented a message titled “Rediscovering the Woman You Are.” In her message, she directed participants to the Bible accounts of Hagar, Leah, and the Samaritan woman at the well; describing their lives and how when they encountered God and when their lives were changed. She explained how the women “discovered that God understood them, knew them and had “other” plans for them.” She showed that in the Bible, we are blessed and prosper when God is our provider and we follow Him; because we are “unique expressions of who God is.”
