Jacqueline Morgan

1927-2016

Services for Jacqueline Harper Morgan, 89, of Canton, were held June 16, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, with Dr. David Christine officiating. 

Interment was at Oakland Cemetery.

Mrs. Morgan died on June 13, 2016, in Canton.

She was born on Jan. 12, 1927, in Macon, Ga., to Frank Reese and Ezelle Aids Harper.

She married her late husband Jimmie Morgan on March 14, 1946. They lived in Carrolton for 37 years before retiring to the Oakland community in Van Zandt County where they lived for 31 years.

She worked at American Hospital Supply in Grand Prairie for 25 years before retiring April 1984. Jacqueline loved square dancing, traveling in the RV, caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of other kids around the area.

Ruth Maddox

1931-2016

Ruth Marie Maddox was born July 13, 1931 in Sulphur Springs, and died May 24, 2016 in Tyler.

Among her favorite activities were her home Bible studies, gardening, quilting, working at First Mondays in Canton, and she was also an avid RV camper.

Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Ocia Maddox; and parents, Opal Mae and Richard Olen Hamiter.

Oleta Davis

1910-2016

Oleta Fannie Kearby Davis, 105 years, 9 months and 27 days old, and a long-time resident (1910 – 2001) of Van Zandt County, died May 23, 2016 in Fort Worth. 

Mrs. Davis was a beloved mother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, auntie and a friend to many people. 

She was born on Aug. 26, 1910, near Canton, in the Cream Level Community (now known as the Little Hope-Moore Community). She attended the Cream Level School and lived and worked in the Little Hope Moore Community for 91 years, with the exception of two years during World War II when her husband was serving in the armed forces.  One of those years, she lived in Canton and the other in Petersburg, Va.

Until her death, she was the oldest living member of the Little Hope Baptist Church.

Nancy Haugen

1938-2016

Nancy Jo Young Haugen, of Canton, beloved, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, born on March 20, 1938 in Montebello, Calif., went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 25, 2016.

Her husband, Bill Haugen; daughter, Sharon Haugen and grandson Lance Caughron preceded her in her heavenly journey. 

Joyce Stevenson

1926-2016

Services for Joyce L. Stevenson, 90, of Grand Saline, were held May 28, 2016, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Presswood and Terry Tolar officiating.

Interment was in Creagleville Cemetery under the direction of  Bartley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stevenson died May 25, 2016, in Grand Saline. She was born March 2, 1926, in Grand Saline.

Ida Hutchins

1923-2016

Ida Elizabeth Hutchins, age 93, died Monday evening, May 23, 2016, at Senior Suite Care and Rehab in Emory.  She was born Jan.  28, 1923 in Dickens.

Rhonda Richardson

1967-2016

Funeral services for Rhonda Diane Richardson, 49, of Wills Point, were held Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Mr. Russell Harris officiating.  Interment was at High Cemetery near Canton under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Mrs. Richardson died early Saturday morning, May 28, 2016, near Lindale due to an automobile accident.

Andrew Caban

1964-2016

Memorial service for Andrew Steven Caban, 52, of Wills Point, was held June 2, 201,6 at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point.

Mr. Caban died May 28, 2016, near Lindale.

He was born Jan. 13, 1964, in Bronx, N.Y.

Virginia Davis

1928-2016

Virginia M Davis, 87, loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went to be with the Lord May 17, 2016, in Canton.

Graveside service was held May 24, 2016, at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis, Arlington, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.

Mrs. Davis was born in Dallas Oct. 28, 1928. She grew up in Fort Worth  and until 2013 was a resident of Arlington.  In 2013 she moved to Canton. 

She was married to her husband of 63 years, Wendell, and pursued her passion of being a mom and homemaker.  She devoted her life to God and her family.  She will be greatly missed by all.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Wendell; her mother and father, Eugene and Molly; her five sisters, Velma, Gladys, Laura, Bertie Lee an d Mattie Lou; and her two brothers, Willie and Roy.

Vera Williams

1922-2016

Vera Williams, age 93, of Emory, died May 19, 2016, in Emory at Senior Care and Rehab.  She was born June 30, 1922, in Jacksboro.
