Tommy ‘Buck’ Reed

Tommy “Buck” Lee Reed Jr., 48, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2015, from natural causes in Canton. 

Tommy was born in Grand Saline, and was a lifelong resident of Canton. From his early years, he was surrounded by both family and nature which developed two passions he would carry with him his whole life.

Shortly before graduating from Canton High School in 1985, Tommy began working in Oaks Village Grocery. He quickly showed an interest in the meat market there and developed skills that he would display under the employment of Brookshire’s and rising quickly to a managerial position.

He was an effective and recognized manager, often called to other towns to leverage his specialized experience and skills. Tommy served as a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps Reserve graduating with Platoon 3113 on April 23, 1993. Tommy worked for many years at Wiley’s Gun Shop in Canton where he could utilize and share his love for both guns and the outdoors. He was an excellent hunter, fisherman, father and friend.

He is preceded in death by his father, Tommy Lee Reed Sr. and uncle, Fred Smith.

He leaves his wife of two years, Kacie Clayton Reed; daughter, Tenisha Reed;  daughter, Tiffani Reed and husband Conrad Reese; stepdaughter, Madison Holveck; stepson, Landon Holveck; sister, Barbara Cravey and husband Darrell Cravey; grandmother, Birdee Lee Smith; and three grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, June 27, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Beau Cox officiating.
