A 2015 synopsis: June
2015 grads reminded to look, change the future
As the Canton High School 2015 graduates prepared to fly the Eagle’s nest, they were reminded that the true story of their life would begin after high school.
“Our story of life began in kindergarten and it went through to our senior year,” Valedictorian Zachary Morgan said. “Our experiences in Canton ISD helped mold who we are today.”
Morgan, who started out his valedictorian address by taking a photo of himself, said that experiences throughout each campus at Canton ISD provided a platform for the future graduates.
“When we were 5, we went to elementary school and our story began there; in intermediate school we faced new issues like holding hands, square dancing and being separated by gender on the playground. We overcame those obstacles together, as a class. Then we went to junior high were dating was the new thing and we had Jeopardy tournaments that everyone liked and then on to high school, where we started off as the bottom man, but now we are on top. But, now as we head off to college we will be back in the bottom again.”
Morgan said that although the class had many different personalities, they would forever stand as the class of 2015.
Morgan then asked his classmates to find themselves in the real world.
“We now have a chance to see what the world has to offer, to spread our wings and leave the nest, to make our own journey in life and to find true happiness.”
