Badgers, dragons and tacos, Oh My!

There was a full house at VZC Library Storytime Feb. 5.

There was a full house on Friday, Feb. 5 for Storytime at the VZC Library.  The theme for the day was “let’s eat”.  The first book read by Ms. Rhonda was “Badger’s Fancy Feast” by Keiko Kasza.  Badger is tired of eating the same old things so he tries to catch some new food to eat.  First a mole but he was too quick, then a rat, but he was too wiggly, then a rabbit but it hippity-hopped right out of Badger’s hands. Badger was so hungry he screamed “I’m so hungry I could eat a horse” and when a horse heard that he kicked the badger right back to his burrow.  Much to his surprise he found all the good food that he had at his house had been eaten by the animals that he had been trying to eat.

The favorite story was “Dragons Love Tacos” where they learned that even though dragons love tacos they hate spicy toppings. The craft was to make a yummy looking paper taco.  This left everyone with the desire for tacos for lunch.

Come join the group at Storytime is Friday, 10 a.m. at the Van Zandt County Library.
