Services for Owen Leon Clowers, 91, of Grand Saline, were held Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Winskie officiating.
Interment was in Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Clowers died Feb. 17, 2016, in Tyler. He was born March 11, 1924, in Mesquite to Roy Houston and Ruth Velma Davidson Clowers.
He served in the US Army during World War II and lived in Grand Saline for over 50 years. He built, owned, and operated the Grismill for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janie Ingram and brother, James Clowers.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Clowers of Grand Saline; stepson, Don Yarbrough and his wife Angie of Grand Saline; step-daughters, Barbara Garland and husband, Wiley of Grand Saline, Susan Beasley of Grand Saline; brothers, Floyd Clowers of Mesquite and Buddy Clowers of Grand Saline; sister, Imogene Tumey of Fate; three grandchildren, Leanne and Johnathan Browning of Tyler, Sarah and Chance Ballard of Grand Saline, and Rachel Beasley of Grand Saline; two great-grandchildren, Gage Ballard and Landrey Browning; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Benny Hollowell, Harry Clifford, John Hodges, Wayne Sloan, Bob Gray and Ferd Maciel.
