Sixteen members and one guest attended the Van Zandt County Mathea Guild meeting held Thursday, April 14 at the American National Bank in Canton.
Vicki Ragle, speaker of the group of five ladies with ATD “Alliance of Therapy Dogs” a local group of ladies that volunteer with their dogs known as “Therapy Dogs of VZCounty.”
These ladies with their Therapy Dog Teams make visits to nursing/assisted living homes, hospitals, hospice enters, schools, libraries and court settings involving children.
Therapy Dog Teams bring happiness and cheer to people young and old alike. The dogs are trained to be obedient and have manners and good leash skills. The Therapy Dogs are known to help stress, depression, high anxiety situations, Alzheimer and dementia patients.
Refreshments were served by Hostesses Betty Hanna, Rosemary Mize and Shirley Morgan.
