The Van Zandt Extension Education Association members attended their annual District 4 Conference and Cultural Arts Event in Denton April 12 and 13.

The VZEEA County Chairperson Carolyn Davis and voting delegates represented the local association at the District level.  This year the VZEEA group was responsible for providing morning snacks and lunch treats.

“The group showed off their excellent culinary skills and provided the 60-plus members in attendance with some delicious homemade baked goods,” said Van Zandt County Extension Family and consumer Science Agent Melisa Rhodes.

The VZEEA members who placed first last month at the county level represented their group at the District Cultural Arts event.

Davis took home the first place honors in two categories and will be advancing to the state level with both of her entries.  Club member Pearl Beaty, who was unable to attend, did send her entry of a machine embroidered necklace and earrings set. She earned first place honors and advances to state also.  These two members will represent their local club and district at the State level in September at the Plano Convention Center.
