Get ready to laugh, sing and dance – the Pipdillys are coming. Bo and Gretchen, who have been entertaining family audiences for over 25 years, will be at the library at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22 performing “Escape from Couch Potato Land.”
The award-winning duo bring a show of songs, circus performance and comedy aimed at inspiring and informing kids to be healthy and fit. This is the seventh and last of the Summer Reading programs of 2016. Besides the regular door prizes, one winner will be drawn from all who attended five of the seven programs to win the grand prize- a choice of an American Girl doll plus wardrobe or a huge city of Legos.
On the same day, the Summer Reading Challenge in adult, young adult and children categories will end. Don’t forget to turn in your reading log by the deadline!
At 10 a.m. July 26 the final preschool Storytime of the summer will take place. Miss Rhonda will feature stories with a zoo theme. After a break, Storytime will resume in the fall.
Do you ever wonder what your teddy bear does at night when you’re asleep? Bring your favorite stuffed animal to the library for the Stuffed Animal Sleepover at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 28. Leave it overnight and return at 10 a.m. on July 29. Breakfast will be served and you will find out what antics your friend got up to in the wee hours!
The Friends of the Library have received these memorial contributions in the past month. Henry and Martha Lewis made a donation in memory of Bruce Lowrie and Bob and Sandra Giles made a donation in the memory of Al and Marge Coleman.
With summer heating up, come by the library. In cool comfort you can use the computers, read magazines and newspapers, connect to the WiFi and choose a book to entertain and inform.
