The Canton Herald has always been dedicated to the citizens and their communities of the surrounding areas. This October 27, 1960 issue will highlight some of the citizens of several communities.
Martins Mill- Mr. and Mrs. Tince Abbott and children, Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Henry and children, Mrs. Billie Wayne Nixon of Dallas visited here over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Bass and children of Pleasant Grove spent the weekend with the latter's mother, Mrs. Maude Phillips. Mrs. Lylie Kitchens, Mrs. Bobby Lahlach of Houston spent the weekend with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gafford Lovvorn. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace visited their daughter, Mrs. Charles Baskin, Mr. Baskin and children Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Bateman of Kaufman visited his mother, Mrs. Birdie Germany Sunday. Mrs. Emelio Gutierrez visited relatives and friends in Dallas.
Watkins-Cana- Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Nichols went to Dallas Saturday to visit the former's sister, Mrs. Harold Sudduth, who underwent surgery in a hospital there. Mrs. Ruth Roberts of Denver, Colo. recently visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Norman.
Colfax- Bobby Dale Geddie is spending two weeks’ vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Getty. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Rumbelow of Creagleville, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pitts and Mrs. Estelle Dickson and daughters, Cindy and Debbie Kirkpatrick of Grand Saline visited Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Wright Sunday. The community was made sad by the passing away of Cullen Tunnell of Van. Sympathy is extended to the family. Visiting Mrs. B. B. Reynolds during the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Reynolds of Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. And. E. Clark and children of Van. Mr. and Mrs. Bill G Bagley, Janet and Linda and Mr. and Mrs. David and Mr. and Mrs. Brian Reynolds and children of Longview. Mrs. Docia Tunnell of Myrtle Springs is spending a few days with the Bridges Tunnell family.
