1954-2016

Memorial services for John E. Casey, 62, of Canton, were held Saturday, Dec.17, 2016, at Old Bethel Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Thompson officiating. Mr. Casey passed away Dec. 9, 2016, at his home.

He was born Sept. 13, 1954, in Athens to Willie G. "Bill" and Marie Trahan Casey. 

He was a member of Midway Church of God.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, operating heavy equipment, and driving around the countryside in his truck, "Old Blacky." He also enjoyed cooking BBQ and smoking briskets. He loved donating his time cooking for churches and other organizations. He loved his family and always enjoyed his church family. He enjoyed sharing God's word and promises on Facebook. This was his way of praising God, a true reflection of his faith. He was very humble and loved showing kindness and love for others, always sharing a big smile. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Marie Casey.

Survivors include his sisters, Billie Casey Risner and husband, David of Canton, and Janice Casey Medina and husband, Al of Kingman, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
