Linda Janett Green of Martins Mill passed away on Dec. 6, 2016, in Tyler due to a brain aneurism and stroke.

Mrs. Green was born on March 8, 1944, in Athens to W.B. and Christine Hawkins Hale.  She was a cosmetologist, a talented seamstress, and an avid quilter.  She was also a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She loved her family more than anything on earth.  She was devoted to her husband, Sherrell, throughout their marriage and through his disablement with Parkinson's disease.  She spent her life loving, serving, and giving of herself and her resources to her children and grandchildren.

When she saw a need she did everything within her power to help.  Her countless acts of service for others were done quietly and without seeking attention. Her positive outlook, rapt listening skills, and her ability to encourage others made her a cherished friend who saw the best in others even when they did not see it in themselves.

She was a Christian whose life reflected the nature of her Savior Jesus Christ by living out her faith in word and in deed.  She faithfully served in ministry for many years alongside her husband and was a member of Little Hope Baptist Church.
