A memorial service for Tony Max Stringer, 69, of Tomball, was held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Dr. Ron Cook officiating.
Mr. Stringer passed away at his home Dec. 26, 2016. He was born March 5, 1947, in Athens to Frank Vinson and Virginia Dare Gregg Stringer.
He graduated from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas and North Texas State University. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea. He retired from Exxon Mobil after 35 years of service. He enjoyed working on the farm and playing on his tractors. He loved collecting model trains. He was a member of Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston and a lifetime member of the NRA.
He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Paul Daniel.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Daniel Stringer of Tomball; sons, Daniel Gregg Stringer and David Paul Stringer, both of Cypress; sister, Lynda Stringer Tomberlin and husband, Bill of Richardson; mother-in-law, Sue Daniel of Canton; and numerous nephews and other relatives.
