Carolus Devisscher

1948-2017

Carolus “Corky” Devisscher died on March 18, 2017 after a lengthy stay in a Tyler hospital due to an ongoing illness.
He was born in Pennsylvania on Dec. 20, 1948 to Charles and Gertrude Devisscher. He grew up in New Jersey and served in the United States Navy. He served aboard the flagship Constellation CV-64 off the coast of Vietnam.
He married Donna Mahoney of Runnemede, N.J. They had two precious daughters and lived for some time in Colorado.
He moved to Texas in 1998. He worked in construction all of his adult life and many East Texas homes and buildings still reflect his signature of excellence.
He became ill in December of 2016, entered East Texas Medical Center at the end of the year, and has now entered Heaven where he looked forward to seeing his Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by both of his daughters, Jennifer and Christina Devisscher, both of whom still reside in Colorado; his grandson, Derek Rowbotham of Denver, Colo.,  a sister, Trudy Sine of Barrington, N.J. and two brothers and their wives, David and Blenda Devisscher of Fincastle and Roy and Sandy Devisscher of Lindale; nephews and their wives, David and Laura Devisscher of Springfield, Ga., Jess and LaTonia Devisscher of Van and Daniel and Mayra Devisscher of Lindale; his niece and her husband, Ladonna and Daniel Hafen of Whitefish, Mont.; many great-nephews and great-nieces; his dearest friend, Lillian Clark, and many others who loved him and will miss him.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 30 at Community Christian Fellowship, 15704 Hwy. 110 North, Lindale, with Rev. Mike Calhoun officiating.
