1910-2015
Services for Essie Myrtle White, 105, of Martins Mill, were held Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Wayne Barber officiating.
She passed away July 14, 2015, in Athens.
Essie was born May 12, 1910, in Daylight, Tenn. to Walter and Hattie Paris.
Interment was at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martins Mill.
Essie moved to Martins Mill at the age of 9 and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Martins Mill Baptist Church. Essie married Newburn White at the age of 18 and they started their family together. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, being outdoors, cooking for her family and had an excellent sense of humor.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Hattie Paris; husband, Newburn White; daughter, Evelyn Zager; son, Fred White; son, Jack White; son, Jerry White; numerous brothers and sisters; great- granddaughter, Misty White and granddaughter, Bonnie Kay White.
Essie is survived by her granddaughters, Jackie and Joe McKnight and Sandy Zager; grandsons, Billy and Avis White, Allan White, Garland and Amanda White, Duane and Paula White, Kelly and Glenda White, Mitchell and Melanie White, and Marshall and Linda White; 10 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-laws, Louise White and Avon White; and son-in-law, T.G. Zager.
