William Scarborough 1946-2019

 

William Clark Scarborough, 72, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 26, 2019, at Cheatham Memorial United Methodist Church in Edgewood with Rev. Alan Van Hoosier officiating.

He was born June 29, 1946, in Ranger to William Henry Scarborough and Anne Foster Cargal.

Wiley Garland III 1937-2019

Wiley L. Garland, III was loved and appreciated by generations in his community for his willingness to help them find solutions to their financial needs. He had a quick wit and a big heart and he will be missed dearly by his family, who adored him.

He was born in Grand Saline on Sept. 18, 1937, to Genelle Hopkins and Wiley Lee Garland Jr. He graduated from Grand Saline High School in 1956 where he was an outstanding athlete.

Linda Sue Cole 1942-2019

Memorial services for Linda Sue Cole, 76, Ben Wheeler, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Heritage Trails Cowboy Church, Ben Wheeler with Rev. C. R. Chapman officiating. She passed away Jan. 6, 2019, at her home.

She was born June 13, 1942, in Martins Mill to the late Ray Stone and Lula May Windham Stone. She was a homemaker and a member of Heritage Trail Cowboy Church. She had lived most of her life in Ben Wheeler.

Donald M. Love was born Aug. 11, 1950, to Ray Foley and Beatrice Love in San Francisco, Calif.  He married Frances M. Love on June 15, 1991, and were married for 28 years.

He is preceded in death by mother, Beatrice Love; stepfather, Harry Love; grandson, Ethan; and brother, Michael.

Don Burns 1941-2019

Bro. Don Burns was born Dec. 27, 1941, in Ben Wheeler to William Weldon and Esta Faye Burns.  He left this place to his home in Heaven on Jan. 11, 2019. 

He was married for 45 years to the late Jeffrey Lynn Burns. He later married Linda Kirkland on March 17, 2006, in Edgewood.

Billy Vargo 1949-2019

Services for Billy Ray Vargo, 69, of Canton were held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Mark Robinson, Bro. Taylor Robinson and Bro. Larry Rosemond officiating. Interment was in Haven of Memories.

He passed away Jan. 8, 2019, at his home. He was born Sept. 9, 1949, in Dallas to William Zalton and Dorothy Faye Krause Vargo.

Linda Roe 1934-2019

On Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, “Lyn” Linda Lou Burnett Roe, loving wife and mother of four children, passed away at the age of 84. She was born on July 22, 1934, in Athens to Halbert and Myrtie (Stilwell) Burnett.

On July 6, 1954, she married “Larry” Lawrence Howard Roe.

They raised one daughter, Rebecca Ann Roe Fears and three sons, Dr. Lawrence Howard Roe Jr, Christopher Allen Roe, and Stephen Michael Roe.

Services for KaSaundra Lide Harris, 76, of Canton were held Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at Eubank Funeral Home.

She was born Sept. 28, 1942, in Mabank to Benjamin Franklin Lide and Carmen Catherine Thurston.

She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jan. 4, 2019, in Dallas.

Janice Livas

Janice Livas of Canton passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 29, 2018, in Tyler.  She was preceded in death by her father, John C. Ranne. 

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Raul Livas, and their only son, 16-year-old Alex Livas.  She is also survived by a large extended family which includes her mother, Myrna Ranne; brothers, Jerry Ranne and Kyle Ranne; sisters, JoAnne Kinney and Linda Wimberly; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Irene Maddox 1937-2019

A memorial service for Oma Irene Miller Maddox was held Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at Hilliard Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Truett officiating.

She was born Oct. 12, 1937, in Commerce to the late Charles Marion Miller and Oma Flemens Miller.  She had been a resident of Van for 52 years and attended The Barn Fellowship in Grand Saline.  She loved flowers and gardening.
