Land research topic of genealogical society talk Saturday
"Start with Land" will be the program topic to be presented by Tresa Tatyrek of Dallas for the Van Zandt County Genealogical Society meeting scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at the main county
library located on First Monday Lane in Canton.
Tatyrek’s talk will include information about the Bureau of Land Management website, the Virginia Northern Neck online records available through the Library of Virginia, North Carolina Grants which are being put up by the North Carolina Archives, and Pennsylvania Patents Indexes and surveys.
Tatyrek has served as president of the Dallas Genealogical Society for three years and six years as their webmaster. She is a member of the Captain Nathaniel Mills Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and is a volunteer genealogist for them. She is also a member of the National Genealogical Society, and a variety of state and county genealogical and historical societies.
The genealogical society meets the fourth Saturday of every month except December at the main county library. Visitors are warmly welcomed, society members said.
