The internet has become a large part of our lives. Younger folks participate willingly and many older folks are forced to participate if they are going to stay current and function within the main stream.
For most it has brought a world of convenience to their lives. But it has also made them vulnerable to fraud and identity theft.
What do we do if we suspect our identity has been stolen?
In 2014 data breaches among U.S. organizations hit a record high of 783 (85.6 million individual records breached) potentially compromising the data of millions of persons who did business with those organizations.
That amounts to a 27.5 percent increase over the last reported breaches of 662 in 2010. These breaches usually target
mass retailers, banks and insurance companies, but health care providers, grocery stores and restaurants are also marks.
