CANTON HERALD, Aug. 4, 1949: B.L. Stevens, father of 10 children, 34 grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren, was honored at Myrtle Springs Park July 31. He was 78 on July 28. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Lovie Mewbourn and sons Lloyd and Jack, of Martins Mill; Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Amato; Mr. and Mrs. Perry Floyd and family of Dallas; Mr. and Mrs. B.C. Stevens and family; Mr. and Mrs. I.J. Stevens and son of Tyler; Mr. and Mrs. A.N. White and daughter of Kaufman; Nevel White Jr., of Oklahoma and Mrs. Roy King and family of Grand Saline.
The Leach family reunion was held at Kilgore Sunday, July 31. Those present were Mrs. John Leach and Nena Leach of Canton; Mr. and Mrs. A.W. McKinney; Mrs. C.M. McKinney and son Johnny and daughter Claude Ann of Mineola; Mr. and Mrs. Joe M. Leach of Dallas; Mrs. Jim Guess of Canton; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Leach of Edgewood; Harley and Leonard Morris of Edgewood; Mrs. Connie Pittman and Jo Ann of Wills Point; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Leach and T.A. of Canton; Mr. and Mrs. Max Patterson and son of Dallas; Mr. and Mrs. Olen Endsley and daughter of Atlanta; Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Mrs. E.A. Heard was honored with a surprise birthday dinner Sunday by her family. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. L.H. Hobbs of Tyler; Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Hobbs; Mr. and Mrs.Van Zandt Hobbs and Mary Linda and Mrs. R.E. Lee of Edgewood; Mrs. R.J. Andrews of Dallas; Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Gulledge of Ben Wheeler; Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Heard, Howard Jr., and Martha Lee.
Funeral services for Andrew Allison Loven were held Tuesday afternoon at the High Church. Interment was in High Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Bros. of Canton. Rev. G.B. Carter of Grand Saline conducted the services. Mr. Loven was born March 2, 1861, in Arkansas. He passed away Aug. 1. He is survived by five sons, E.A, Floyd, Paul, Forest and Ira Loven; and four daughters, Mrs. Nora Woodward, Mrs. Claudia Tidwell, Mrs. Eula Shaw and Mrs. Pearl Jacobs.
Wallace: This community was made sad Monday evening by the death of Mr. Loring who lived here several years ago and had many friends here. Sympathy is extended to his children.
