Pirates rally past Canton, 24-21

The Canton Eagles looked well positioned to pick up their first win of the season in Crandall on Friday night, scoring three touchdowns early to take a 21-7 lead entering the half. That margin would hold until the fourth quarter when 17 unanswered points, including a field goal as time expired, helped Crandall upend the Eagles 24-21.
Eagle quarterback Hunter Moore helped stake Canton to its lead by connecting with brother Tanner Moore on an 8-yard TD pass in the first quarter. Hunter added two more rushing touchdowns in the second quarter.
Crandall bounced back in the fourth quarter, scoring both on the ground and in the air to tie the score at 21-21 with just over 7 minutes left to play in the game.
The Pirates managed to snuff out a late Eagle drive  with an interception, and then closed out the game with a successful 32-yard field goal at the final gun to complete the comeback against Canton.
The Eagles now return home on Sept. 18 for a homecoming night contest against Spring Hill.
