Thirty pieces of silver
How much are they really worth?
They were given to betray the Savior
A man’s greatest mistake on earth.
He received them thinking he was wealth
Filling his life with strife
God’s Spirit showed him his action
He then took his own life.
He returned the silver to giver
Casting it down on the floor
The givers guilty conscience
Were ashamed to ask for more.
The betrayal took Jesus to prison
In chains some slapped his face
They nailed Him on Calvary Cross
Guilt on the human race.
They thrust a sword in his side
Both blood and water came out
This blood has power over all sin
Praise God “Hallelujah” we shout.
