Services for Devon Baugh, 87, of Canton were held Oct. 3, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Burns, Harold Hearn and Jerry Don Stanger officiating.  Interment was in Highland Cemetery.

Devon Baugh passed away Oct. 1, 2015, at his home in Canton.  He was born July 30, 1928, in Myrtle Springs to Jesse Washington and Monnie Geneva Bateman Baugh.

He was a longtime member of the Word of Victory Church in Canton. 

Having been born and raised in Highland, he attended school in Highland and graduated from Edgewood High School.  He married the love of his life, Dorothy Vance in 1948. 

He was drafted into the Army in December 1950 and served two and a half years during the Korean Conflict.  He was a carpenter for many years.  Later he was the owner of DK Used Car Lot in Canton for 14 years.  After retiring from the car lot he attended and graduated from Christ for the Nations College in Dallas.  He then spent five years doing mission work in Mexico. 

He loved hunting, fishing, his garden and spending time with his family.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a true Christian friend to all who knew him. 

Mr. Baugh is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Baugh of Canton; her daughter, Pamela and Gary Newell of Canton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Hershel and Betty Vance and sister-in-law, Doris Grier.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Baugh; six brothers, M.J., Tommy, John D., “Junior,” Billy Joe and Leonard Baugh; sister, Opal Valentine; a grandson; and one great-grandson.

Pallbearers were Dennis Devon Emerson, J.B. Emerson, Vince Emerson, Dillon Meroney, Blake Reese, Bradley Reese, Avry Machovoe and Adam Machovoe.
