Services for Mildred Frances Teel, 92, of Canton, were held Oct. 6, 2015, at the Church of Christ on Highway 243 in Canton, with Paul Fike officiating, under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home of Terrell. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Interment was in the Highland Memorial Gardens in Terrell.

Mildred Teel passed away Oct. 2, 2015, at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

She was born in Elmo Nov. 22, 1922, to Thomas and Callie Tallent and grew up in the Hiram Community and also attended school there.  

She married the love of her life, Wilford Teel Aug. 10, 1942, in San Antonio.  They were blessed with two sons, Nathan and Jerry. 

She worked at Sears and Roebuck in Dallas until her retirement.  She lived out her retirement years in Terrell, Lawrence and Canton.

Mrs. Teel was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Tallent and Callie Ashworth Tallent; her husband, Wilford Teel; and two sisters, Curley Paty and Ruby Marshall.

She is survived by her sister, Patsy Fleetwood and her husband Marvin; two sons and their wives, Nathan and Joyce Ann Teel of Winnsboro and Jerry and Joyce Teel of Canton, five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers were James Teel, Jason Teel, Dennis Marshall, Howard Walker, Larry Clamon and Don McCarty.
