New cook off has folks in a stew

The Canton Main Street is looking forward to hosting the program’s major fund raiser from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10,  in downtown Canton.

The event is family-friendly with a variety of arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, live music and entertainment, a big silent auction, sidewalk sales, kid’s area with activities, Carter blood drive, car show, 5K run/walk (not a timed event), cake walk and community stew cook-off.

Added new this year is the Community Stew/Soup Cook-off.

The Stew Cook Off  is strictly for fun, earning bragging rights for the year for the best stew recipe and winning a cash prize for first, second or third place.

People’s Choice judging will start at 11:30 a.m. and continue until 1:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at 2 p.m.
