District meet scheduled for Monday

The Running Eagles ran at the Mansfield Invitational on Friday, October 9. The girls team finished third overall out of 17 teams (second in our region) and 118 runners. 

Karen James led the way with a 9th place finish in 12:22 followed closely by Juliana Bratcher in 11th with a time of 12:38. Hannah Manry was 33rd in 13:30, Lindsey Lamar 38th in 13:38, Morgan Palmer 41st in 13:40 and Taylor Marshall 43rd in 13:41.

Coach Marta Morgan stated, "The girls did a great job and are really excited about the next two meets."

The varsity boys finished 7th overall out of 22 teams and a field of 163 runners. Matthew Hook finished 18th with a time of 18:13, Cordale Harrison 22nd in 18:30, Andrew Hamel 26th in 18:41, Juan Ruiz 41st in 19:02, Jonathan Bourquin 56th in 19:32, and Fernando Lopez 21:18. 

In the JV girls division, Kristin Neystel finished with a time of 14:41 and 10th place, Olivia Boyd 15:02 for 11th place, Nancy Lopez 20th in 15:58, Kendall Bright 26th in 16:26, Ally Wiley 38th in 16:58, and Maddie Welty 47th in 18:16. 

Christian Bourquin finished 9th on the JV boys team with a time of 20:25 and Garrett Willis turned in a 26:30. 

The Running Eagles will be hosting the district meet Oct. 19 at the First Monday Grounds. The first race is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
