Leo Club collects shoes, trash

Congratulations Canton High School Leo Club for collecting over 350 pairs of shoes for people in Haiti!

Special congrats go to Katherine Sage (42 pair,) Patricia Hernandez (40 pair) and Emily Watson (38) for collecting the most shoes by Oct. 21.

Seventeen Leo members participated to make the drive a huge success.

The Leo Club is under a new advisor, Kim Burch, this year. The Club already has 28 members and has participated in two activities so far.

As well as participating in the shoe drive, Oct. 15, 12 Leos, as well as Mr. Thomas, Lion

Club member Jasper Strickland, and Burch, were able to pick up trash along South Hwy. 19. They were able to pick up 24 bags of trash in one hour on the 2-mile stretch that the Lions Club

sponsors in the adopt-a-highway program.

Special thanks goes to Trent Sweat for collecting five bags of trash and Kati Morris for

collecting four.
