Services for Patricia Ann Sockwell, 63, of Mesquite, were held Dec. 12, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton.  Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Martins Mill.

Mrs. Sockwell was a faithful member at House of Prayer Church of God in Christ in Wills Point under the leadership of the late Edward Hardin until her health failed.

She was born in Canton to Willie and Easter Fitzgerald Aug. 16, 1952. She was united in marriage to the late James Radolph Sockwell  Oct. 28, 1972. To this union were born four children, Felesia and Billy Hamilton of Mesquite, Surine Sockwell of Athens, James R. Sockwell II of Athens and Crystal Sockwell of Tyler.

She has two stepdaughters, Sherrie and Ronnie Smith of Cleburne and Sophia and James Ward of Athens and son-in-law, Wayne McCuin of Malakoff;  one brother, Herman Fitzgerald of Wills Point; four sisters, Jean Loudermill of Dallas, Shirley and George Murry of Canton,  Sue and Charles Mitchell of Canton and Peggy and Johnny Harris of Canton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Sockwell; her parents; three brothers, Eddie Dean, Frank and Eugene Fitzgerald; two sisters, Carter Mae and Francis Mae Fitzgerald; and one grandson.

She leaves to cherish her memory eight grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.
