The Great Miracle

They took my Jesus to the cross

Drove nails through His hands and His feet,

They thrust a sword into His side and said,

Now our victory compete.

No cry was heard to accuse and to blame

No railing accusation,

But a prayer for mercy for the guilty

So wrong in their elation.

He cried out to His Father God

Thy will, not mine be done

He died for the sins of all mankind.

He was truly the Father’s Son.

Death was a friend who came in relief

The pain He suffered went away

To the grave he was carried by friends so dear

In the grave they thought He would stay.

But the grave couldn’t hold Him

The victory over death He had won,

He came out rejoicing and glorified

His countenance as bright as the sun.

He now lives forever to seek and to save

To answer His call is salvation

Fulfilling our dreams, healing our hurts

Indeed, He’s the hope of all nations.

He said, “I will save you” and fill you with joy

If you will believe and come in

For I am the giver of Life and Light

I will destroy the last enemy, sin.
