Candidate forum set for Monday in Canton

The Canton Tea Party will host a Republican candidate forum for local candidates in the March Primary election.

The forum will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, in the Church of Christ Fellowship Building, 805 Big Rock St. in Canton.

According to information from organizers, “candidates will be given a moderated time of introduction and questions pertaining to their elected office being south.”

Candidates invited include State House District 2 candidates Dan Flynn (incumbent) and Bryan Slayton; Texas State Board of Education – Mary Bruner; VZC Pct. 1 commissioner – Brandon Brown (incumbent) and Tom Elliott; VZC Pc t. 3 commissioner – Gregory “Keith” Pearson, Rusty Miracle and Stanley Brown; VZC sheriff – Ron Carroll, Dale Corbett, Anthony Katsoulas and Sam Mayer; VZC Pct. 1 constable – Mickey Henson; VZC Pct. 2 constable – Jesse Ison and C.B. Wiley (incumbent;) VZC Pct. 3 constable – Robert Tisdale; VZC Pct. 4 constable – Pat Jordan; and VZC tax assessor-collector – Shirley Chisham.
