Be a busy bee at the library

Spring is going to be busy at the Van Zandt County Library.  Great plans are in the making.  Watch for details in the newspapers, Facebook, library foyer, or visit www.vanzandtlibrary.org for information.

Festivals around the county will be featured at 10 a.m. Feb. 8 during the meeting of The Friends of the Library in the Buchanan Room of the VZC Library.

The Tocker Foundation, in cooperation with libraries in the area, is offering a rotating collection of large print books.  Look for them on the end cap of large print area.  This collection changes every three months and offers fiction and non-fiction.

An often overlooked area of the library is the young adult section.  These books are geared to high school age readers, and contains the old standbys of teen readers—Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew—and more modern tales like the Pendragon Series and The Hunger Games.  Nonfiction on many subjects are also available for help with school work.   A bean bag chair and futons make it an attractive place for browsing.

Memorials have been received for Frances Anderson from Mike and Jonna Abbott, from Wanda and Robert Westmoreland for Toni Heard and for Erlene Counts from Martha and Henry Lewis.  These gifts provide lasting improvements for the library.

March will make a difference at the library.  It may also impact your schedule.  Pay attention!
