Tyler-area man running for State Board of Education

Hank Hering

Hank Hering is running in the Republican primary for State Board of Education, District 9.

Hering said after 30 years of standing for conservative principles within the Republican Party, “It is time for me to continue that endeavor on the State Board of Education.”

A software systems engineer with Brookshire Grocery Company, Hering and his wife of 33 years, Jennifer, have lived in the Tyler area for 21 years. Four of their five children hold degrees, and the fifth is a freshman in college.

Hering said the principles and policies of America’s founders, based on strong Judeo-Christian footing, must be passed on to our children and grandchildren in order to safeguard the nation.

“We cannot ignore that this purposeful undertaking is highly influenced by our education system, nor that this process must be diligently monitored with wisdom and common sense,” he said.
