Volunteers making wishes come true

At Make-A-Wish^® North Texas, our Mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Make-A-Wish^® North Texas strives to grant the wish of every eligible child in the 161 county area that we serve. Make-A-Wish North Texas has granted over 9,000 wishes to date and currently has 1,000 volunteers, 50 of which are located in East Texas. A wish is more than a gift, or a singular event in time. Wishes impact everyone involved - wish kids, families, donors, volunteers, sponsors, medical professionals and communities.

In Canton and its surrounding towns, we are looking for more volunteers who would be willing to work directly with our wish kids and their families while helping to make these deserving children’s wishes come true. Make-A-Wish will grant approximately 100 wishes in East Texas this year alone, but we are having a hard time meeting our wish families as quickly as we would like to. Many of our families live in smaller towns and we are looking for volunteers who are willing to travel up to an hour at most to meet with them.
