Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
Dr. Seuss’ birthday was celebrated at Storytime at the VZC Library Feb. 26.
Van Zandt County Library hosted a Dr. Seuss birthday party at Storytime Friday, Feb. 26. The Canton fifth grade gifted and talented class were helpers for the celebration.
Students participating were Aubree Logan, Canaan Eiland, Beck Robinson, Emma Welty, Norah
DeLeon, Ethan Fisher, Matthew Bartley, Maddie Wilson, Emily Bitter, Chad Lide, Gavin Cervantes, Nevan Heddin, Taylor Whitton, Abilgail George and Erin Adams.
Three of the students, Ethan Fisher, Beck Robinson and Aubree Logan read “Green Eggs and Ham,” “Go Dog Go,” “Hop On Pop” and “The Foot Book” by Dr. Seuss. The students had different centers set up for the children. These centers included a craft center where the children made a “Cat in The Hat” hat, a game center where the children got to “Stick The Hat On The Cat,” a fish memory game where the children got to memorize “Where’s The Red Fish, Blue Fish?” and a coloring center where the children got to color a picture.
Birthday cake and ice cream were served and the children sang happy birthday to Dr. Seuss.
Storytime is held at 10 a.m. each Friday morning at 317 First Monday Lane in Canton.
