Teacher resigns amidst allegations

Emily Todoroff

The Edgewood ISD school board has accepted the resignation of high school Health Sciences teacher Emily Todoroff.

According to school board officials, the district did not ask Todoroff to resign but has an active, ongoing investigation into allegations of misconduct.

Edgewood ISD Superintendent Andy Baker stated, "Our investigation into possible misconduct is still ongoing and will not be affected by Mrs. Todoroff's employment resignation.  Should our investigation ultimately discover evidence of inappropriate behavior and/or professional misconduct that warrants greater discipline than Edgewood ISD authority, then I will work with the appropriate authorities and agencies to ensure that our students remain safe."

Todoroff began teaching at Edgewood ISD in August 2015 after serving in the military and attending Trinity Valley Community College.

The district could not comment on the specifics of the investigation.

Reports are that Todoroff texted lewd photos to underage students.

The case remains under investigation.
