Quilting group names show winners

The Quilters Guild of East Texas has announced the ribbon winners from the 35th annual Tyler Quilt Show.

The quilts were judged by National Quilting Association of Certified Judge Carol Brooks of North Henderson, Ill.

Among the winners were local quilters:

Sarah P. Minor Memorial Ribbon for Fine Hand Quilting:                “Shalom Roses”, Dottie Mae Groves, Canton

Category 300 – Appliquéd, Hand Quilted: First – “Grandmother’s Trunk”, Elizabeth Rinks, Wills Point

Category 400 – Mixed Technique, Hand Quilted: First – “Shalom Roses”, Dottie Mae Groves, Canton; Second – “Dots Bright and Beautiful”, Dottie Mae Groves, Canton; Third – “Galaxy”, Dottie Mae Groves, Canton; and Honorable Mention – “Barn Dance”, Beverly Pendergrass, Canton

Category 900 – Appliquéd, Machine Quilted Track Mounted:  Third –“Midnight Roses”, Harold Groves, Canton

Category 1600 – Appliquéd, Hand Quilted: Third –“Bethlehem Flowers”, Dottie Mae Groves, Canton

Category 1700 – Mixed Techniques, Hand Quilted: First –“Glowing with Hope”, Harold Groves, Canton; Second –“Vintage Ice Skate”, Beverly Pendergrass, Canton

Category 1900 – Appliquéd, Machine Quilted, Stationary or Track Mounted: Third –“Nutcrackers”, Bonnie Cade, Canton
