Michele Hughes

1943-2016

 

A memorial service was held for Michele Hughes April 8, 2016, at Hilliard Funeral Home.

Michele Diane Hymowitz Hughes was born Nov. 13, 1943, in Brooklyn, N.Y. and died at the age of 72 on April 5, 2016 in Canton. 

She had been a resident of Canton for a year, formerly living in Tyler.  She worked as a CNA for many years, and never met a stranger.  She was known for her big personality and caring heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Rose Wilk Hymowitz; son, Adam Hughes; sister, Maxine Kelley; and brother, Morty Hymowitz.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Hughes of Murchison; children, Roxanne Lewis of Canton, Jackie Hughes of Arizona, Michael Pruger of California and Christine Hughes of Van; sister, Ann Case of Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Joseph Joiner, Jeff Joiner, Scott Joiner, Stephen Joiner, Daniel Joiner, Jonathan Joiner, Courtney Venable and Jessica Hughes; and 20 great-grandchildren.
