The Canton Eaglettes have been flying high throughout District 14-4A play, winning four consecutive games to improve to 4-1 overall.

In their most recent contest, Canton avenged its lone district loss with a 10-8 win over Emory Rains at home April 5.

Multi-run innings were the story of the game, as Canton put up crooked numbers in the first, second and sixth innings to grab a 10-5 advantage heading into the seventh.

Rains rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh before the Eaglettes slammed the door on any Lady Cat comeback attempt.

Leading hitters included Brooke Arnold going a perfect 3/3 at the plate with two doubles, 4 RBI and three runs scored, Reagan Busby going 2/3 with an RBI and two runs scored, Taylor Durham going 2/3 with a double and two runs scored, Gracie Chavez going 1/3 with a double and 2 RBI, Sam Neal going 1/4 with an RBI, Jenna Stanley going 1/4 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored and Kylie Floyd going 1/3 with a run scored.

Stanley picked up her second win of the week in district play, allowing eight earned runs and striking out nine is seven innings of work.

Canton is scheduled to host Wills Point April 12. The Eaglettes will travel to Brownsboro April 15 and then return home to host Van April 19 for Senior Night.
